The state of South Carolina has seen a 62% decrease in foster families in the last two years.

Lancaster county is in need of a resource to support foster families to increase retention.

Additionally, support is needed for families who are helping with their kinship placements, recently adopted children, and reunited biological families.

James 1:27. “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:

to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from

being polluted by the world.”

The Giving Closet will provide, free of charge, items such as: clothing, diapers, wipes, beds, bedding, cribs, high chairs, hygiene items, etc. to these families.  When a family visits, they will be given a homemade frozen meal.  The Giving Closet also provides a foster parent support group and a team of volunteers to provide emotional support and encouragement.  Donations are already being received via our Amazon Wish list and word of mouth.  Our hope is to be open to families in January 2024.
